Number of family members

Standard

Do you ever wonder what’s the typical family number? Is there a typical number? I was thinking about this recently. This thought was probably inspired by the Dugger family from that reality show. I read an article about the birth of their 19th child. Wow. Why did the want so many? I’ve never watched their show. I mean, if you have that many children, it should be because you own a farm and need help on the farm.

I’m not hating. I’m just curious. Don’t they get on each others’ nerves? Maybe they’re a tight knit family who get along very well. I hope you don’t get too mad or upset with me for wondering.

Anyway, I thought about some cartoons, TV showsd movies I’ve watched and that have five member families and four member families. There are other different ranges too. Here are some that I can recall that are the main families:

Five Member families

Full House – Danny, D.J., Stephanie, Michelle, and including the deceased mother. I’m grouping them as a five member family because although the mother was deceased, she was mentioned a few times. If you include Jesse and Joey, they’d be a six member family (seven including the deceased mother).

Family Matters – Carl, Harriet, Eddie, Laura, and Judy. At some point, Judy was just gone from the show. If you include Rachel and Richie, they’d be a seven member family.

The Fresh Prince of Bel Air – Philip, Vivian, Hilary, Carlton, and Ashley. They originally started out as a five member family, then Nicky was born. If you include Will, they’d be a seven member family.

Step by Step – Carol, Dana, Karen, Mark, and including Carol’s ex husband/father of her children are one family. Frank, J.T., Al, Brenden, and including Frank’s ex wife/mother of his children are another family. The families combined and became a step family. Carol and Frank later had Lily, so they became a seven member family. If you include Cody (before Lily came along), they’d be a seven member family.

The Simpsons – Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie are one family. If you include Grandpa Abe in The Simpson’s clan, they are a six member family. Jacqueline, Selma, Patty, Marge, and including the father are another family. (The father was mentioned at times, but I don’t remember if he was deceased or not).

Family Guy – Peter, Lois, Meg, Chris, and Stewie.

Eddie’s Million Dollar Cookoff – Eddie, his two brothers, and their parents.

Motocrossed – Andrea, Andrew, Jason, and their parents.

Roseanne – Dan, Roseanne, Becky, Darlene, and D.J. Dan and Roseanne later had another child and they became a six member family.

Boy Meets World – Alan, Amy, Eric, Cory, and Morgan.

The Proud Family – Oscar, Trudy, Penny, BeBe, and CeCe.

Kim Possible – Kim, Jim, Tim, and their parents.

Even Stevens – Donnie, Ren, Louis, and their parents.

Mrs. Doubtfire – Daniel, Miranda, Lydia, Chris, and Natalie. Daniel and Miranda are divorced.

Dexter – Dexter, Rita, Aster, Cody, and Harrison. Aster and Cody are Dexter’s stepchildren. This didn’t stay a five member family.

Bobby’s World – Howard, Martha, Kelly, Derek, and Bobby. Howard and Martha later had twins, so they became a seven member family.

The Addams Family Values – Gomez, Morticia, Wednesday, Pugsly, and Pubert. If you include Fester and Morticia’s mom, they are a seven member family.

Smart Guy – Evette, Marcus, T.J., their father, and the deceased mother. I’m grouping them as a five member family because although the mother was deceased, she was mentioned a few times.

Freddie – Joe, Freddie, Sophia, and their parents. I dont remember what happened to their mom. I think she was deceased. Joe was deceased. Their father was alive, but had another lover.

The Parent Hood – Robert, Jerri, Michael, Zaria, and Nicholas.

The Nanny – Maxwell, Maggie, Brighton, Grace, and the deceased mother. I’m grouping them as a five member family because although the mother was deceased, she was mentioned a few times. Maxwell and Fran (the nanny) eventually fall in love and got married. Maxwell and Fran eventually had twins, making them a seven member family.

Unhappily Ever After – Jack, Jennifer, Ryan, Tiffany, and Ross.

Home Improvement – Tim, Jill, Brad, Randy, and Mark.

Four member families

That’s So Raven – Victor, Tanya, Raven, and Cory.

Married With Children – Al, Peggy, Kelly, and Bud.

Life With Louie – Andy, Ora, Louie, and Tommy.

She’s The Man – Viola, Sebastian, and their parents. Their parents are divorced.

The Other Me – Alana, Will, and their parents.

The Poof Point – Marie, Eddie, and their parents.

Au Pair – Oliver, Kate, and Alex. They are initially a three member family because the mother was deceased. Oliver marries Jenny (the Au Pair) in Au Pair II, making her become Kate and Alex’s stepmother and making them become a four member family.

That’s all I could think of and feel like writing.

2010 Honda CRV

Standard

I just saw an advertisement for the 2010 Honda CRV. I also read information about it on Honda’s website, looked at some pictures, and looked at the 360 degree demo/picture. The new model looks pretty sweet to me. It looks much better than the year I have. The interior and exterior look sleek.

The only thing I don’t like about the interior is the navigation system area. It seems like you’ll still have to look down and away. Maybe it seems that way because I’m a short person.

It’s too too bad that it’s a 5-speed. I can’t drive a 5-speed. I suck at driving an automatic. I guess at some point I should learn how to drive a 5-speed.

*Scam number alert!* (513) 754-9822

Standard

Number: (513) 754-9822
Origin: Ohio, USA

In this month of January, I kept getting calls from the number (513) 754-9822. Of course, I didn’t pick up. I’ve set my phone to have this number go straight to voicemail. I have checked out this number before on a site called 800 Notes. I’ve blogged about it in one of my entries back in September 2009. It happens to be a number related to Macy’s and people have said it was a scam. What the hell do those bitches want? I’ve never had a Macy’s card and I’ve never shopped at Macy’s. If they’re calling to collect a debt, they’re out of luck. I’ve had my number for five years now and this Macy’s number only started calling in late 2009. If they’re trying to reach whomever had my number before, then they’re out of luck for that one as well. Just this week they’ve called 10 times. It’s so annoying! It’s stupid how you can still get calls like this when you’ve signed up for the National Do Not Call list. I’ve registered my number years ago. Get a life you damn Macy’s fraud people!

Canvasser

Standard

A canvasser came to my doorstep about half an hour ago. He was trying to get me to register to vote. I told him I’d have to think about it and research. I didn’t want to just go into all that blindly. He said I wouldn’t be voting now, I’d just be registered so that I can vote when the time comes. So he was trying to persuade me to register as a Democrat so that the number of Democrats can outnumber the number of Republicans. He was telling me a lot of stuff. I was eating food at the time and I just wanted to get back to my meal! That’s why I told him I’ll think about it. The reason why I’ve never registered to vote is because the information on the ballot isn’t what I’d even want to vote for at all. What would be the point of registering to vote and then not even vote when it comes time to do so? For some reason, there’s always stupid stuff on ballots. This I know from people who have voted. If people’s opinions really matter, they should just let ordinary people come up with things to vote on. Many things affect many people. Even our representatives can’t even represent us.

I don’t pay attention to politics. In order to know what I should be voting for, I should be paying attention to the issues. Unfortunately, issues that matter are really boring. I know it’ll affect me, but I just can’t stand it. I’m not interested. I’m in a little bubble, concealed from the outside world. Politicians can promise all sorts of things. Of course, the promises aren’t always delivered. Heck, they hardly ever are. It’s true that change doesn’t occur overnight. It’s hard to get a mass number of people to believe your ideals. Sometimes I’d catch speeches from candidates of elections when my parents are watching TV. It just all seems like bull shit to me. So, I’ll have a lot to think about and research about. I don’t know what the heck the differences in ideals and values between Democrats and Republicans are except that rich people tend to be Republicans and middle class people tend to be Democrats. I will do research when I am in the mood to do so. Politics give me a worse headache than taxes.

Birthday party invitation/Deleted some entries

Standard

One of my coworkers invited me to her birthday party this Friday. She said it will be a Candy-land theme. Of course, she said it isn’t going to be a dress up theme party. Everyone else she invited thought they’d have to dress up hehe. Even I thought so. I was surprised that she invited me. I told her that I’ll think about it. In reality, I don’t want to go. The social thing isn’t my scene. Plus, I have no one to go with. I told this to my brother and he gave me a “don’t tell me I have to go” look. Well, I wouldn’t want to bring my brother. He may not be able to protect me ha! I don’t want to ask my sister either because she dislikes one of the friends of my coworker. I’m pretty sure the “disliked person” will be there since she is one of my coworker’s best friends, so I know my sister will not go. I don’t have any other friends to go with either. I think I will know some of the people, but they are people I haven’t seen in 10 years or so. I wasn’t particularly close to them back then anyways. They were just schoolmates. The idea of being at a party with strangers doesn’t sound good to me. You never know what could happen. My coworker already expressed to me that there will be drinking. I told her that I don’t drink. She then told me to just go for the food. I don’t really see the point in driving all the way to her house just for food. O_o

Moving on… I’ve deleted some of my blog entries. The entries I’ve deleted are the ones that pertained to work. I didn’t want to just keep writing about work all the time. I’m sure no one would want to read about it. I just liked writing about it so that I could vent and express my feelings. I am still doing that, but I am doing so in my other private blog. As I was reading through the entries about work, I’ve noticed that some were more personal than I originally thought. Now I can write about other crap! Haha.

3D TV and 4G Networks

Standard

I have been reading articles lately regarding 3D Televisions and 4G Networks. For the 3D TVs, there are companies (I think the satellite companies, I forgot) were making developments for it. The other day, my sister told me that her friend told her that Japan was going to do that as well because they wanted to get back on top when it comes to technology. I also read an article about that. The article did say that Japan wanted to reclaim the title of being the best technologically advanced society. The article I read mentioned TVs, but it didn’t mention 3D TV though. I guess so far it is a race between Japan and U.S.A. to see who will come out on top eh? I guess 3D TV would have to be the next step up. Everything else seems to have been done already. There’s Blue Ray and HD TV. Of course color and sound are also enhanced, so 3D is pretty much the only thing left. That would be interesting. It would most likely be very costly as well. Wait, I just thought of another one – touch screen TVs. I don’t know if those exist yet, but maybe they will too. Besides 3D and touch screen, I can’t think of anything else left for television. Well, maybe 4D TV could be next after that?

As for the 4G networks, I’ve read that the top cell phone companies are currently developing these. The reason is of course so that people can surf the web better on their phones. People pretty much do everything on their phones nowadays. They talk, text, take pictures, check email, send pictures, check their social network stuff, watch videos, listen to music, watch movies, read news, blog, instant message, play games, and web surf. There are probably other things that I have listed as well. So, these cell phone companies want to accommodate their customers. That’s fine and all, but it comes with a hefty price, surely. Think about it. Better technology means more money will be spent. When you take TV and cell phones into consideration, you’re spending more money than you should. I would know because that’s what I’m doing. Sad isn’t it? With the 4G Networks, a faster connection is the goal so that there aren’t any interferences with other wireless networks. Well, I’ll wait and see how these two technological advances will play out in society.

More rain/No food

Standard

Ugh. More rain. It’s not pouring like yesterday though. At least not yet. I think I should get the plastic umbrellas. Maybe those won’t blow away when there’s wind. My umbrella is old. It’s still usable, but I’ve had it forever! I want to get a rain repellent kit for my car. The windshield wipers only help so much. The water on my other windows makes it hard to see. I have to change lanes a lot while driving, so it’s not good to have water droplets on my windows. Of course, having to splash through puddles doesn’t help either. It makes things worse, especially if it is a dirt filled puddle.

On another note, we’re running out of food at home because no one has money to buy food. Goodness! I don’t even make enough income to support myself. Now I have to support my family!?!? My family depends on me financially. My mom depends on me the most for that. Prior to moving into our current house, she said that no one is to blamed if we have a shortage because we were all in it together. Who did she blame when we did have a shortage on money? Me! Every day she blames me! She claims she isn’t, but it’s so obvious with the things she says! Jeez! Sorry I had to buy stuff I needed. I wasn’t about to sleep on the hardwood floor! Ugh. I’ll write more later.
