Nick Carter – Facing the Music and Living to Talk About It

Standard

Nick Carter has released his book! Actually, it was released on September 17th. It’s called Facing the Music and Living to Talk About It. It’s out now at bookstores. At least, I hope bookstores have them.

For more information, visit Facing the Music and Living to Talk About It.

I think I might buy the book. It’s a hardcover book and it’s $22. I don’t know if I want to pay that much for a book. I think I have before for other books written by celebrities. I’ll have to see. I’ll need to check local bookstores to see if they have them. They might already be sold out. If the bookstores are sold out, I’ll probably go to Wal Mart or Target to get them.

I was actually at Wal Mart and Target the other day, but I didn’t look for the book. I didn’t think to look for it because I didn’t know it already came out. Maybe Nick answers the questions that he has been avoiding. Congratulations to Nick on the book release.

Nick Carter – Book Release

Standard

I just read an article that said Nick will release a memoir. It will be released on September 24.

The article can be read at Nick Carter Recalls Substance Abuse Past in Upcoming Memoir.

I think I might buy it. It depends on if I have money since I will be attending one of the Backstreet Boys shows in September. Despite fans knowing almost everything about Nick, I’m sure there are things we don’t know or understand about him. This memoir is supposed to chronicle his life.

I wonder if he will touch on Leslie’s death and her funeral. Some fans were pissed off at him and won’t forgive him because he didn’t attend her funeral. I would like to know more about that as well. A tour can always be postponed. You can always have more tours. A family member only dies once. There aren’t any do-overs when it comes to death. Since this book will be through his eyes and in his own words, I’m interested in what he has to say.

Once Upon A Time: Shadow of the Queen

Standard

In my Once Upon A Time: Shadow of the Queen entry, I mentioned that there will be a comic book that centers on the Queen and the Huntsman. It will be released on September 4th. The comic will be a tie in to the series. A cover of the comic book has been revealed! It looks worthy of the Queen. For more information, visit Once Upon a Time Graphic Novel Cover Unveiled. I think this will be an interesting comic. It will tell the back story of the Queen and the Huntsman. It will be in depth and it won’t be rushed. Since I am a fan of the Once Upon A Time franchise, I wouldn’t mind reading the comics. I won’t be able to own them, but I’d like to read them. It would be nice to see how the characters are depicted on paper. I’m sure Oncers are looking forward to this comic. Oncers, will you be getting this comic book series?

Grimm Comic Book (For Free)!

Standard

Grimm fans can get an issue of the upcoming Grimm comic book for free on Free Comic Book Day! The free issue is the very first issue. A preview of the comic book is available online at Grimm Preview. Free Comic Book Day will be on May 4th this year. It’s usually the first Saturday of May. This is actually the first time I’ve heard of Free Comic Book Day. I suppose I would’ve known about it if I actually read comic books. Comic book stores seem rare in my city. I only know of one and it’s on the other side of town. I’ve never been to it, but I was told it was there. The Grimm comic book is a look into the inspiration for the characters and creatures of the TV show. However, I do wonder if it will have different storylines or if it will have the same storylines as the show. I don’t remember the plots of some episodes. Either way, it would be cool because the comic book won’t feel so rushed. It will be more in depth. It would be cool to see the creatures on paper. It would seem more organic, more realistic. The transformation of the creatures on the show involves a lot CGI and it shows. Although the make up gets applied and it looks great, the CGI kills it. I think this is a comic book I wouldn’t mind having. However, if I did pick up the free copy, it will be the only copy I own. I’m limited on storage space and finances. Grimmsters, will you be getting your copy of the comic book and are you going to get the rest of the series?

Reawakened – A Once Upon A Time Tale

Standard

Reawakened: A Once Upon A Time Tale by Odette Beane will be available on May 7th. It seems to be a retelling of the what happened in the Once Upon A Time TV series. I’m not exactly sure since I don’t remember the storyline for each episode. The first chapter is available for preview online. It can be read at Reawakened – A Once Upon A Time Tale. When I first saw the announcement about this, I thought it would be a fan fiction. As I skimmed through parts of the preview, it appeared to be a retelling. Since it is a retelling of the series, maybe it will be more in depth. I don’t think I’d read the book though. I’d probably just go back and re-watch all the episodes of the series. If I were to buy the book, I don’t have any space to put it in my house, except to box it up. I don’t have a Kindle or a Nook, so I wouldn’t be able to buy a digital copy. Maybe I’ll keep track of it after other fans have already bought the book just to see if there is anything different.

Once Upon A Time: Shadow of the Queen

Standard

Once Upon A Time is going to be a graphic novel from Marvel! It’ll be called Once Upon A Time: Shadow of the Queen and will be available on September 4th. To read more about this, visit Once Upon a Time Graphic Novel. From the looks of it, the story centers on Regina (the queen) and the Huntsman. It seems like it would be interesting. The TV series didn’t give a full background of both of them. It would be nice to know their back stories. I’m sure Once Upon A Time fans are excited about this. Since this is going to be the first graphic novel, I wonder if there will be others. Will it become a series of graphic novels for the characters Regina and the Huntsman? Will other characters get a graphic novel and back story as well? It would be interesting if all the characters did. That way, we can learn more about them.

The Lucifer Gospel [Book Review]

Standard

Summary:

Archaeologist Finn Ryan travels to Egypt for an archaeological expedition. She also meets Virgil Hilts, a pilot and photographer who was hired for the same expedition. They both discover something that was meant to be hidden. Together, they try to solve the mystery while avoiding dangers that lurk on their quest.

Review:

This is the second book involving the character Finn Ryan. I like Finn. She’s smart and brave. I like that this author empowers women. I like that there are various settings in the story. It feels as though the reader is taken on an adventure along with the characters.

The character development is fairly good. Once a character is introduced, pretty much everything that needs to be known about them is revealed. However, I would have enjoyed more mystery concerning the characters. I like clues that lead up to the bigger picture.

There are descriptions of people and places that just seem too be too much. I mean, I like things to be descriptive, but they don’t have to be in full detail. It makes me want to say, “Get to the point already.”

The plot development was all right, but it seems that the author spent a lot of time leading up to the climax only to be stuck on how to end things.

The ending was okay. It made me curious as to what exactly was contained in the Lucifer Gospel. I wished it was known. The characters risked their lives to find it, so it would’ve been nice to see what it was.
